Melia, Jimmy I remember Jimmy taking Aldershot to Anfield on a freezing January day in 1971 for an FA Cup match. I stood on the Kop that day and 50 years on it still makes me smile. We lost 1 - 0 but what a day. Thank you Jimmy.

Melia, Jimmy Jimmy was well known already as a schoolboy in Liverpool. Terrific midfielder for Liverpool FC. I knew him when he was managing Southport. Great footballer and modest man.

Melia, Jimmy I can remember when I lived in Rowledge nor Farnham and with Jimmy as Manager he got Aldershot promoted so we all clambered down to his bungalow in Rowledge shouting and cheering. Sadly I can’t remember the year.

Melia, Jimmy I am 77 but remembered the great Shankly era, It was then that Jimmy created the midfield magic that was a combination of the " square pass" the through ball" "the dummy" in a memorable Easter game against Spurs we won 5-2 and Jimmy scored 2 . He invented the theory of passes that split. defences which I copied during my minor footy career in the Sunday School league, Zingari, Craven league, I recently met a relation of Jimmy and he promised next time he was back in the UK I might get the opportunity to meet him.
