Biography: Former England Amateur international who trained to become a teacher before deciding to turn professional. He asked Pompey for a trial and was immediately recruited. Occupying a berth on te left side of midfield, he played consistently over the next five years and won the Player of the Year award in 1975. He now lives in Portsmouth where he is now Pompey's assistant Chaplain. A devout Christian, Mick also runs 'Faith and Football' with fellow ex- Blues Linvoy Primus and Darren Moore. Player of the season in 1975.

Mellows, Micky We were both in the life boys 8th morden, we both dived off top board of wimbledon baths the same night and we opened the batting for the cricket team, I went to Garth and Mickey went to Canterbury and we played against each other in the juniors 1958/59 season we won the league.

Mellows, Micky I lived in Rarm Road in Morden and went to Sutton Grammar School where I tried to get him play rugby.

Mellows, Micky I was captain of the Sutton Grammar School soccer team when Micky (or Mike as he was known then) attended the school. He became the youngest boy to ever play in our first team as it was very clear how talented he was.
