Position: Goalkeeper

Biography: A goalkeeper who served United for 14 years, becoming the first player to receive two benefits from the club. The first netted him £1,000 but the second was capped at £650. It was after the Great War when he made his mark, only missing four games in four seasons, and with his full back partners Charlie Moore and Jack Silcock, he clocked up an impressive run of 26 consecutive games. He left the club for Barrow three years later. He went into business with Lancashire and England cricketer, Cecil Parkin, before coaching in Belgium and Peru. He settled in Stretford and worked in a Manchester factory. He died in October 1963, aged 74.
