Biography: A club record buy when a £1.2 million was supposed to be paid to Bradford City in 2000. The club had difficulty keeping up the payments and were put under an FA embargo. On the pitch, Mills had problems finding the net and was fairly speedily moved on to Coventry City for a fraction of the original fee. Ironically, he did wear a Pompey shirt once more, when his new side played at Fratton Park but had were forced to wear our away kit because they had forgotten to bring their own. Mills became manager of Bridgnorth Town in the Midland Football Alliance club in May 2010.
