Scott Minto

Clubs played for: Charlton Athletic, Chelsea, Benfica, West Ham United, Rotherham United (1989-2006)

Born: 1971

Birthplace: Bromborough

Position: Left-back

Biography: Glenn Hoddle paid Charlton Athletic £775,000 to help solve a perceived weakness at Left-back despite having Andy Myers and Frank Sinclair in the squad. His time at Stamford Bridge was hit by injury and illness and an Achilles tendon injury meant he had to wait four months to make his debut for the club. This proved to be a sign of things to come as he continued to battle away, until Graeme Le Saux's recruitment made the task even harder. He couldn't agree a new deal with the club and left for Benfica in 1997 after making one of his last appearances in the FA Cup Final victory over Middlesbrough at Wembley. Now works as an unpaid driver for a Rotherham hospice, and is also a pundit for Sky Television appearing on a variety of programmes.
