Micky Nutton

Micky Nutton

Clubs played for: Chelsea, Reading, Millwall (1978-1987)

Born: 1978

Birthplace: London

Position: Defender

Biography: Enjoyed several runs in the first team without ever really establishing himself as a regular, not least because of the stiff competition that he faced from Colin Pates and Gary Chivers. Nutton did enjoy a decent partnership with Mickey Droy whom he proved to be an ideal foil for between 1979 and 1981, but after a run of injuries it became clear that he was never going to fully realise his potential. George Graham returned to his former club to take Nutton 'south of the river' to Millwall for £65,000 in March 1983. Played for non-league side Fisher and Erith & Belvedere. Continues to live in Crystal Palace and works in the building industry.
