Biography: A Ron Atkinson signing for £55,000, but it wasn't until Sir Alex Ferguson took control of first team affairs that he was given a chance to impress in the first team squad. He made seven full appearances and another two as a sub in his first season, but he rejected a new deal when he failed to get a regular start and made the £275,000 move to Newcastle United, in November 1988. A Republic of Ireland international, was once sent off after just 85 seconds. Has managed a number of clubs in Ireland where he runs a chauffeuring business.
