Biography: A Nigerian striker and a former Polish international who had broken the record for the greatest number of goals scored by a Polish player in a single World Cup qualifying tournament and was a contender for the FIFA World Footballer of the Year 2001. He joined Pompey's battle against relegation in 2005 on a 'pay as you play' deal. However, this did not make him rich - he only managed two games before leaving for the Greek island of Xanthi. Olisadebe has since played in Cyprus for KinyrasPeyia FC and in the Chinese Super League with Henan Construction. 12 goals in his first season in China meant that he was the country's second highest scorer and he was nominated for the Most Valuable Player of the year award for two consecutive seasons, being pipped into second place on both occasions. He may not have made much of an impression at Fratton Park, but Emmanuel Olisadebe's wedding was headline news in Poland.
