Pearce, Jimmy I remember Jimmy. Wonderful player to watch when he set off down the wing, it was exciting.

Pearce, Jimmy I watched Jimmy play throughout his Spurs career. A terrific player who some may have underrated but not me, quality and Greaves was my hero too. I love seeing our old players and wishing them well

Pearce, Jimmy May I thank Carol Pearce for an update on husband Jimmy, a Spurs star who deserves recognition. Featured prominently in the 1973 League Cup final and I will soon set up a blog to remember former players who should not be forgotten.

Pearce, Jimmy I remember Jimmy from school (Risley Avenue and Rowland Hill). I always thought that due to his size and his neat dribbling skills he would go on to play like John White (sadly killed by lightning.) After leaving school, I, and friends, often went to the Harringay Wimpy Bar. Having, on one occassion, gone to pay my bill, I looked up and this fellow next to me, a good few inches taller, turned out to be Jimmy. I asked how his football was going and he was bit apprehensive saying he was working making polythene bags but hoping his football life would improve - so it did. I do not know if Spurs put him on a special diet but had certainly shot up in size. Confusing articles but hope he is well and healthy and I send my best wishes to him and family

Pearce, Jimmy I remember Jimmy Pearce well from when he played for Rowland Hill School, I played for a rival school (Markfield) he was unstoppable, not unusual for him to get 2 or 3 hat tricks in a game. We were all envious of him when Spurs signed him at age 15 for £7 a week, all us other kids had mundane jobs for 4 or 5 quid a week. He had to be a great player to get into Spurs first team in them days, real shame injury ended his career, hope he is keeping well these days.

Pearce, Jimmy I remember watching Jimmy in the brilliant team of the early seventies. One abiding memory is of a goal which he scored against Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park against John Jackson. I was behind the goal and Jimmy broke through on his own and, with the outside of his right boot, he swerved the ball fully two metres round the keeper and inside the far post. I had never seen a piece of skill quite like it. What an under rated player he was !

Pearce, Jimmy The good thing about having a bad football injury meant, as I recovered, I could travel up to London from Eastbourne to see my team Spurs play. Greaves,Gilzean,Perryman,Chivers etc. But I loved seeing wingers and Jimmy Pearce was fantastic, great pace and a superb shot in either foot. But I can remember walking down Seven Sisters way and in front of me was Jimmy Pearce carrying his boots in his hands. How things have changed. Top player, shame he never wrote a book, he must have some great stories. Paul Dallaway

Pearce, Jimmy Hi...I'm Jimmy's wife and happened to come across your site. I'm happy to say he's alive and well and living in Suffolk. Although after having giving up football after his knee injury in the 70's he didn't want to pursue a career as coach etc, he's been a keen follower of Spurs. He's always vowed if he couldn't play he didn't want to get involved. Football was his life and playing for Spurs was his dream! He was very upset to hear about Jimmy Greaves who hasn't had the best of health and wished he could have kept in touch. Jimmy was his idol! After leaving Spurs he pursued a career in Wholesale Ladies Separates firm Jacques Vert then onto a pharmaceutical firm until he retired in early 2000's . We've been happily married for 50 years, have 2 daughters, 5 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Hope this information helps. Best Wishes Carole Pearce
