Biography: Pleayed for Stoke between 1959-1967. Left to join Oldham before becoming Youth Team Manager at Port Vale. At Vale he brought through Russell Bromage, Mark and Neville Chamberlain, Keny Beech, Phil Sproson, and Trevor Dance. Alan died of a heart attack whilst umpiring a cricket match in May 2009.
