Biography: Already an experienced Outside-left when Shrewsbury Town accepted Pompey's bid of £15,000 in 1952. As a player he failed to make much of an impact but went on to have a long and successful coaching career once he hung up his boots. He spent the summers in America, managed the England Ladies team for twelve years and continued to coach until he was 80.
