Biography: A very powerful defender, who spent two years at Southampton before following Glen Hoddle to Tottenham for £8.1 million. He retired from playing aged 30 with a suspected brain tumour, however a couple of years later he returned to hometown club Bradford City as a part time youth team coach, to provide his 'time and experience to some of the young lads' coming through the ranks. He sadly died in February 2011 aged just 36. His death was acknowledged by a minutes applause at many of his previous clubs games the following week
