Biography: Signed to replace the legendary Vic Woodley but had to share duties with Harry Medhurst for two seasons before joining Birmingham in November 1948 for £2,500. Ran his own newsagents in Stoke on Trent before returning to his native Berkshire where he died in 1973 aged 50.
