Shimwell, Eddie Just loved being coached by Eddie Shimwell at Woodlands School Matlock (Miss White’s) as young boys about 1960 - Nigel Hassall and myself were two of the keenest players and we were in awe of his speed and power of his shot. A lovely modest guy who would have retired with millions in today’s game and not run a pub.

Shimwell, Eddie Worked with Eddie at the Miners Home Blackpool Lancs, lovely man and a true Gentleman. Didn't talk much about his football days - wasn't the type to blow his own trumpet.

Shimwell, Eddie Eddie Shimwell coached us at school in Matlock (Woodlands School) in 1959/60. As little boys we were in complete awe of him - his balance, his swerve and the incredible power of his shot with the old fashioned leather football. A lovely man and encouraging coach - great memories.

SHIMWELL, Eddie Eddie was the Landlord of the Plough Inn, Two Dales near Matlock. He and the rest of the team including Sir Stanley Matthews brought the F.A. Cup back to the pub and placed it on the bar after their Cup win in 1954.
