Biography: In Hull during the late 50's early 60's Ainthorpe High School & Easfield High produced a number of payers who made he grade as professional footballers.Simpkin a product of Eastield joined Hull City as an amateur in September 1959 and went on to play 313 League games for the Tigers before being transferred to Blackpool in 1971 for whom he played a vital role in his familiar No.6 shirt. His next move was to Scunthorpe prior to having a short spell in the U.S.A. After a season with the Baltimore Comets he moved back to the U.K.to Huddersfield Town then onto Hartlepool before stepping out of the league to join Scarborough. Simpkin, now retired having spent many years in the motor industry still lives in the area and keeps fit by cycling daily. Finds time each weekend supporting local Evo-Stik Premier side North Ferriby United.
