Simpson, Peter In 1970 in Bude Cornwall, I played 2x 6 aside games vs PS & his Arsenal pals Bobby Gould & Jeff Barnett. Of course I marked Peter out of the game (not!) We all had a great time in that hot, sunny fun unforgettable summer. Still got the photos in my Oxford home if Peter wants to see them..

Simpson, Peter I was a driver for Schweppes at their Neasden depot from 1977-1984. We delivered to the west end and often had casual labour as a third man on the lorry. One day the foreman gave us a third man and on the drive down to the west end he told us he had played football he had a beard and introduced himself, Peter Simpson. He was very modest. I had been to most of the home games and a few away games on the double run of 1971. If he reads this I hope he might remember his brief encounter with Schweppes delivering to the gentlemen’s clubs around Pall Mall. Thanks Pete.

Simpson, Peter I worked with Pete at JJ Roofing from 2005-2006/7 before he fully retired. Like someone as previously said, he wasn’t too interested in football when I knew him which was a shame coz I would’ve loved to talk to him all day about Arsenal.

Simpson, Peter What a great footballer and legend at the Arsenal. Peter was the steadiest and most reliable defender I have witnessed wearing the shirt and that is incredible praise when you consider the great Frank McLintock and Tony Adams. He was denied an England place because a certain Bobby Moore was at his prime. My love of Arsenal was done to watching players like Peter Simpson at the great Highbury Stadium...how we could do with his like in the present team!

SIMPSON, Peter Peter worked for a roofing company called JJ roofing and he only worked 3 days a week and played golf the rest of the week. I loved speaking to Peter about his playing days etc but sadly Peter told me he lost completely lost interest in football - this was 15 years ago, Peter is a real laid back person but a wonderful man.

Simpson Ah the memories. We used to play every minute we could on an old patch of ground with two coats at each end for goals in Gorleston on the old Magdalen estate. Peter was about 10 years old and I was 14. He had a magic wand of a left foot but his right was only for standing on. Great kid he was and we played until the place got pitch black and then went home to eat.

Simpson, Peter I met Peter Simpson on holiday in Austria in about 1989. Got talking to him at the bar with no idea as to who he was. Said he came here every year and the locals wanted him to play football. Asked him if he was any good - ' I used to be a pro' he said - who for - 'Arsenal'. Could have knocked me down with a feather when he told me his name. Nice fella though - think he said he came for the walking in the area.

Simpson, Peter I bought Peter Simpson's red Ford Cortina 2000GT, registration number LUV220K in 1973/74 I think. It was not until I had to write the cheque that the penny dropped. Me being a diehard Tottenham supporter did not make any difference, the car was brilliant. For months afterwards I would be driving around North London, getting flashed and then the other driver looking bemused, saying no doubt, whose that 'prat' driving Peter Simpson's car. He was a gentleman and made me welcome in his home. Great player, saying this through gritted teath.
