Biography: The younger of two goalkeeping brothers. A double winner with Rangers, he joined the South Yorkshire police and became Community Constable at Sheffield United often travelling to Sheffield United's away games as a spotter in case of crowd trouble, sadly lost a four year battle with cancer in August 1997 aged 51.

Springett, Peter Pete and myself were team captains for Carlisle at our school Chelsea Central. He was a great footballer and I was just a good runner!!
