Biography: Capped 33 times by England he was once swapped for younger brother Peter, owned a sports shop while still playing is now retired after starting his own decorating and gardening business in East Sheen.

Springett, Ron The greatest Wednesday keeper of the post-war era. Nobody since has been fit to lace his boots! Only Martin Hodge and Ron's brother, the late great Peter came close. Ron was the ultimate professional.
