Birthplace: Drogheda, Ireland

Position: Defender

Biography: Staunton became assistant coach at Walsall in 2005 before being appointed manager of the Republic of Ireland international side in 2006. In 2007 he lost his job and a year later became assistant manager to Gary McAllister at Leeds United. During the 09-10 season he had a brief spell as manager of Darlington, but was sacked when the club were relegated from the Football League.
