Biography: Stepney's stay at Stamford Bridge lasted just four months. He was signed from Millwall for £50,000 in the summer of 1966 but was on his way to Old Trafford in the September, at a £5,000 profit, when Sir Matt Busy needed to replace Dave Gaskell and Harry Gregg. This was just ten days after making his one and only appearance against Southampton at the Dell. He ran a van hire business in Rochdale, also ran a pub, worked in a car body repair shop, became Commercial Manager at Rochdale FC and coached the goalkeepers at Man City. Is now an after dinner speaker and radio chat show host in Manchester.
