Storey-Moore, Ian The Arsenal defence were all over the place He went round them all. It was Alan Ball's first match for Arsenal. They never knew what hit them

Storey-Moore, Ian 27 December 1971, Forest 1 Arsenal 1. He beat almost the entire Arsenal title winning team from the half way line and waltzed the ball into the net. Best goal I ever saw, shame the TV cameras were not there.

Storey-Moore, Ian What an exciting and skilful player who was a credit to a very successful Nottingham Forest Team. I recall he was often fouled as his silky skills were difficult to cope with. In one game in a rare moment of frustration he kicked the ball at a fouling opponent that hit his left leg - the left leg hit the right leg and the player fell in a heap. Even the player saw the funny side.
Those were the days my friend, with everyone singing:
"Aye Aye Ian Storey-Moore" and "Ian Moore will dazzle in the Sun".
(Yes, it was a very cheery John Winfield who had the shop in the Victoria Centre).

Storey-Moore, Ian I believe his one time girlfriend lived in the same block of flats on Valley Road in Chilwell, Nottinghamshire.

Storey-Moore, Ian Lived in Abbey Road, Bingham, when Ian also lived there when he was playing for Forest. Vividly remember a fantastic solo goal he scored against Arsenal.

Storey-Moore, Ian As good a landlord, as he was a footballer. as he is a man - a total gem of a bloke. It’s a pity they don’t make them like Ian any more - A goal every 2.25 games from the wing over a decade, for a team who spent most of that time struggling, and alas injury meant we never got to see him in his peak years (28-33) and who’d have won far more caps but for being a wing wonder in Ramsey’s age of wingless wonders. If you didn’t know or discover any of this, well, he’d be too modest to ever let on. Wise and funny with a great football brain, I miss our little chats in the Sheaf in my teens and early twenties.

Storey-Moore, Ian Wasn’t that John Winfield who ran the Sweet Shop?
02-02-22 Dave Watts
Storey-Moore, Ian I remember Ian Storey Moore. He used to run a sweet shop business in a small cabin department of the Victoria Centre in Mottingham!! (Well before the make over of the place). He sold sweets and chocolates and newspapers and magazines and cigarettes! I got served by him a few times in the 80s and early 90s!

Storey-Moore, Ian I used to work for him marking the board in his bookies in Bingham. Just bumped in to him at Nottingham races.

Storey-Moore, Ian He remains one of my 'all time greats' - I am 62 this year and still have my scrapbooks from 'back in the day' when my beloved Man United signed him. GREAT MEMORIES.

Storey-Moore, Ian Ian Moore is the reason I started supporting Man Utd in 1972. I used to tell people he was my Uncle! 9 year old's tall tale! I was gutted when he left United. I kept on supporting them until they dropped the 'Football Club' from the badge and Edwards would not listen to the supporters not to do it. 'We are not a Football Club, we are a business' is what he said. Cannot argue with their success but at the heart of every club is their supporters. To me, United lost this.
