Biography: Chistopher Jeremiah Symons is better known to us as 'Kit' and was the rock of the Pompey defence for seven years. During his Fratton Park days he was a fans' favourite, was the only Pompey player to score in the fateful FA Cup Semi Final penalty shoot out and was Player of the Year in 1994. A product of the youth set up, he created a formidable partnership with Andy Awford which led to speculation that one or both would be lured away by one of the nation's top sides. Symons did eventually move to Man City for £1.2 m to be reunited with former boss Alan Ball. Later played for Crystal Palace and was briefly their caretaker manager before leaving the club in October 2007. Kit then joined Colchester United and again assumed the role of Caretaker Manager Player of the season in 1994.
