Clubs played for: Darlington, Chelsea, Southend United, Ashford Town (Kent)and Canterbury City ( the latter two clubs were in the Southern League).

Biography: John was a goalkeeper who was born in Darlington. He played for his home town Club from 1956 to 1958. He played for Chelsea from 1958 to 1960. He played for Southend United FC from 1960 to 1963, He was transferred to Ashford Town in 1963, and subsequently played for Canterbury City. I have recently been carrying out some family history enquiries and discovered that John is now deceased. I was a friend of John's over 50 years ago but we lost contact, when he left Ashford Town FC (Kent). Ashford Town at that time were playing in the Southern League, and John was the first team goalkeeper for several years. John was born in Darlington on 1st August 1939. He died in County Durham on 6th November 1985, aged 46.

Tennant, John If this is John Tennant who worked for Graham Tennant Stationery in the 80's I knew John through work. He was a lovely man very quiet and polite and I have fond memories of John who was so tragically taken from us. God Bless John
