Thurlow, Alec My father ‘Spud Sheldrake’ played for Diss and knew Alec as he got the Man City team autographs for him (which I have). The story from Dad was that tragically at a young age, Alec died of TB. Sadly, dad has died of Alzheimer’s from heading the ball so I cannot add any more than that except he was looked up to as an exceptional player from Diss.
