Tilford, Arthur Dear Peter Lynch, It is true what he told you. He was registered in the Guinness book of records for the longest kick. It was a fluke but never the less, he held the record for the longest kick for quite some time.

My ex husband is his Grandson. We now have two very sporting grandsons. One in particular is a great footballer.

Tilford, Arthur I worked with Arthur from 1964 until he retired. Don’t know the dates but when you’re a teenager it doesn’t matter. He was so amiable lovely guy you would wish to meet always spoke of being a footballer and I was in awe. He came up in conversation in my local, today , so I’m writing this in his memory , respect.

Tilford, Arthur Arthur told me that he had kicked a football further than any other player. He claimed, that whilst playing for Nottingham Forest that a clearance of his went out of the ground and landed in a coal barge that was passing on the nearby River Trent. It was recovered in Hull. Whether this was true or not, I never knew. He was a lovely, lovely man and always had a twinkle in his eye when he told this tale, so, who knows?
