Biography: Formed a lethal partnership with his namesake Sandy, for the price of a friendly with Southern League Leyton. He was to return to the club on a month's trial in 1914 but United's board refused to pay the £300 asking price with war imminent. He went into business in the Chorlton area of Manchester, where he ran a highly prosperous money lending business. He died in the city in 1945.
