Birthplace: Atherstone

Position: Central defender

Biography: A hard tackling, strongly built wing half known as 'Tank' played a vital role in the 1962-63 promotion winning season. He then helped The Blues establish themselves in the top flight before returning to Derby in September 1965. Became player-manager of Workington, returned to the Bridge as assistant manager/coach and then became caretaker manager. A whole host of coaching jobs around the world followed and his last job was as Aston Villa's chief scout. Opened a sports injuries clinic in Derby before retiring.
