Biography: Experienced defender with 10 England caps joined Saints at the end of his playing career with 400 league appearances already under his belt following manager Graeme Souness from Galatasaray After retirement aged just 32 due to a back injury, he became a television football pundit for Sky Sports, and later ITV. He also turned down several opportunities to become a TV presenter, before moving to Southern California with his family.
