Biography: French Under 21 international whose UK career was triggered by a £500,000 move to Liverpool from Montpellier. He lasted five seasons with the Reds but only played 11 first team games before being released on a free transfer. He had been loaned out to a number of clubs including Rangers but decided to join Pompey instead of the Scottish giants. This decision may have been regretted when Harry Redknapp returned to the club and was clearly not a Vignal fan. After tree years back in France, he played one season for Birmingham and since September 2010 has been on the books of Greek side Atromitos.
