Waddle, Alan I have good memories of working alongside Alan soon after his footballing career ended. I joined a software company (Sema, based in Cheshire) at the same time as Alan (1991). It was amusing how the guy organising the office 5-a-side team got onto Alan straight away. I left two years later but was back working with Alan again at another software company (Data Sciences, in Cheshire again) in 1996. Two years later I took a software developer role at Barclays Bank, again Cheshire-based, and was joined by Alan! I think he was still there when I moved on two years later. He brought a great deal of calm good humour to the office each day. Versatile guy, taking that on, after a career with a ball at his feet.
