Biography: Glasgow born inside forward who played all his League football south of the border. Joined Wolves in 1947 as a teenager and worked his way into the first team. Despite 26 goals in 44 matches, Walker was allowed to leave for Southampton for a fee of £12,000 in 1952. Spent six productive years with the Saints before moving on to his last club, Reading. Retired in 1964 and became the Berkshire club's reserve coach before leaving the game altogether. Later worked for the Royal Mail but died in the village of Theale, just outside Reading in 2019 at the age of 90.
