Biography: Danny was the eldest of the three brothers who all played for Southampton. He made his debut at just 16 years and 314 days, making him the clubs youngest debutant at the time, He quickly established himself in the team and as a crowd favourite. He scored a goal in his only England appearance before a move to Manchester United, where he made 50 appearances before regular injuries started to effect his fitness and form. In 1996 he was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis and he was forced to retire shortly after his 30th birthday, Danny says ÐBut the diagnosis came as a relief. I knew there had to be a reason why I was getting so may injuries and it turned out to be because I had MS. I was relieved to know that it wasnt my fault.Ó He had a testimonial game in 2004 in 2006 he completed the 26miles of the London raising funds for his foundation Which was established in 2005 to aid the relief of sickness and the preservation of health among people suffering from multiple sclerosis by providing and assisting in the provision of treatment, care, support and assistance for such persons and their families and careers.
