Birthplace: Dublin, Ireland

Position: Half-back

Biography: He played two games against Liverpool at the end of the 1942-1943 seasons. Ironically, he was a junior at Old Trafford over a decade previously but decided to join Manchester City. He went into management and succeeded Bill Shankly at Grimsby, he later moved to Australia where he worked for Norwich Union in Melbourne while managing a couple of local teams. He retired to Noosa, Queensland, where he died in July 2006 aged 85, three years after attending the last match at Maine Road. His Ashes are interned at the Garden of Remembrance at the City of Manchester Stadium.
