Ward, Ralph My father Jack Eric Goddard and Ward were school friends and attended the Alderman And Newton School in Leicester. Both were Oadby boys. On a random note, I am a Spurs season pass holder, about 30 years ago I used to sit next to an old Spurs fan and he watched Ward play after WW2 at White Hart Lane. He remarked how when he took a penalty he would take a 40 yard run-up and hit the ball as hard as he could. You literally thought he was going to burst the net. Ralph Ward regularly took the penalties.
