Webb, David David Webb is my first cousin, twice removed. He's my nan's cousin, but me being 19 I have never seen him and neither has my nan and her close family, so we've never been in contact with him but to know we are related is kinda cool

Webb, David I trained at Leyton Orient as a youngster in about 1965. Dave and another of their youngsters Terry Price used to coach us. They both played for Orient reserves and shortly made it into the first teamTerry later moved on to Norwich. Dave was a great joker. I always remember him telling us of the pranks he played on Terry when he was with his girlfriend.

Webb, David Stratford was never in Essex. It was the part of the County Borough of West Ham and had the same status as a county until it joined with East Ham and became the London Borough of Newham.
Thanks for pointing that out Martin - reference removed.

Webb, David Growing up in the 70's, I voted for David Webb as "Sports personality of the year" every year, by postcard, but to no avail! I even carried on voting after he finished playing.......this was before it became limited by a short list!

Webb, David Dave and another player had a kit cleaning business in the early 70s. They used to clean out company team kit. I was the tea boy just starting my apprenticeship. Most of the guys at work were Chelsea supporters. I remember seeing this big car pull up outside the workshops. Out steps Dave wed one of my heroes. He asked me if I knew where Fred Marchal was. I said yes and walked him through the shop where we found Fred. Needless to say all work stopped. Dave was real nice took loads of time talking and signing for the guys. Great memories for a young lad.
I remember going to Charlie Cooke's testimonial.
Dave was running down the left wing. He went to cross the ball. Instead it went into the stands.
Dave pulled out an imaginary shovel promptly dug a whole and dived into it. The crowd loved it.
Great guy. Real Chelsea legend.

Webb, David I had the pleasure of meeting David when we were both single. Went to a few parties with him when he met Jackie. Also invited to their wedding in South Woodford. My parents had the Orient cafe in Leyton. David and all the players would come in for lunch everyday, good old days. We are both the same age and have lost all contact with him.
WEBB, David Dave was a close mate of mine when we both attended Lister Technical School in Plaistow between 1957 - 61. Dave left school and went to Leyton Orient FC, I went into the Royal Navy - we lost touch for a while. In 1966 I was serving on the RN submarine Amphion based at Singapore when Southampton FC were on a pre season tour of Asia. I managed to contact Webby and arranged for him and other members to visit the boat - we then went to their game against Singapore X!. Some years later when Dave was managing Southend, I was surprised to see him turn up at my wedding reception with Tony Cole, an old school friend from my primary school days. My wife also knew Dave from Lister as at one stage we were all in the same year and had also got in contact with some other school friends. We shared many good times in those days and I considered him to be a special mate.
