Colin Webster

Position: Inside-forward

Biography: Webster had won an Army Cup winner's medal before joining Manchester United in May 1952, after being recommended by his former Northern Command team mate, Dennis Viollet. Traditionally a centre forward, he was never a regular in the first team before Munich, a trip he missed out on because of a severe bout of the flu. After retiring, he worked as a scaffolder and for nine years as a park ranger in Swansea, where he died from lung cancer in March 2001, aged 68.
