Whitington, Eric Eric joined Horsham FC and made his debut on 8th March 1975 against Harwich & Parkestone. He scored on his debut and scored four more before the end of the season. He re-signed for 1975/76 and scored a hat full. I believe he also played the following season during which he broke his leg.

Good bloke, wicked sense of humour, and a bloody good player.

Whitington, Eric When I was a long haired student in 1970-2 I did my business diploma at Crawley College of Technology. My mates and I used to watch big Eric playing - he was quite a prolific scorer back then in the Southern League and our “local hero”.
Graffiti daubed around the town then was the now famous slogan “Eric is God”. Although it referred to Eric Clapton, we liked to think it was a homage to our Eric! I’m 68 years old now and watching Crawley thrashing Leeds Utd on BBC. Happy days!
