Whittaker, Ray I lived in a prefab in Ranwell Street, Bow and Ray lived in Ranwell Close, a block of flats positioned opposite the prefabs. Lovely family.
We lived in a cul de sac and boys would play football there rather than over the Victoria Park across the road. Their football would keep landing in our garden, usually at meal times and One time my mum, who washed up returning the ball, came out into the garden and pierced the ball with a knife!! The ball belonged to Ray and he went to get his dad to show him what my mum had done. Ray's dad was lovely and as my dad loved football there was an amicable conversation.

Ray went on to play for Luton along with another lad (can't remember first name? John? O'Brien)
Goes to show a kick about can lead to greater things.

My mum and dad were Ted and Flo Foy and and we had a black Scottie dog.
