Biography: Corporal Punishment' made over 450 appearances for a number of clubs, after leaving the British Army at the ripe old age of 25. Despite this relatively late start, he notched up over 100 Pompey goals and broke the club's all-time scoring record of 42 league goals in the 1992-3 season. He also featured in the FA Cup semi final against Liverpool in 1992. History was to repeat itself, when as a Wycombe Wanderers player he suffered the fate and at the hands of the same opponents. He later went on to become player-manager of Newport, Isle of Wight, but left them in 2005 when the club ran into financial difficulties. He also coached at Newbury and Eastleigh before joining the first-team coaching staff at Fratton Park in January 2009. Player of the season in 1990.
