Birthplace: Wolverhampton

Position: Centre-half

Biography: Made a scoring league debut as a centre-forward against Everton in August 1919 aged 25 and in total he spent fourteen and a half seasons at Stamford Bridge. He moved back to take on the role of Centre-half and was a pillar of the side in the immediate years after the war but then had to settle for being in and out of the team. Was a member of the London Victory Cup win over Fulham, and contributed a goal to the victory. Later moved to Tottenham before returning to Chelsea, where he was employed as groundsman. Died in Earlsfield in December 1958 aged 64.
