Birthplace: Shirebrook, Derbyshire

Position: Left-back

Biography: Played over 400 league games and won 63 England caps including one for the victorious 1966 World Cup final. Became one of the most famous undertakers in Britain, running the family Funeral Directors business from its base near Huddersfield until retiring in 1997. (FA Cup winner with Everton in 1966)

Wilson, Ray Remember Ray marking Stanley Mathews(age 50) in a match at Huddersfield v. Stoke. What season would that have been ? Hope Ray is going to Elland Road for the World Cup winners (50th Annerversary) on 19th March Leeds v. Huddersfield?


Wilson, Ray i was on a course near huddersfield and had a world cup ball signed by team except ray i got in touch with local paper to find out where ray lived i got bhis number and asked him if i could come to get ball signed he said you will not find me but give your hotel and time i will come to you which he did people asked me who he was i told them he played in 1966 world cup final for england people said he was a great man to come to see you
