Biography: The fair haired star of the immediate post-war soccer scene, Billy Wright had begun with wolves straight from school. He became an inspiring captain for both club and country, making his international debut for England in 1946 and going on to make a then record 105 appearances, including a run of 46 consecutive matches. Holder of three League Championship medals, he also captained Wolves in winning the 1949 Cup Final against Leicester City. He was Player of the Year in 1951-2 and awarded the O.B.E. and is Married Joy of the Beverley sisters. Died September 1994.(Three times a Football League champion)
